About Janie Bow
In Janie's studio...
Janie has loved art her entire life.
It started as a child with her crayons and manilla paper, then and oodles of drawings presented to her parents. It continued throughout public school art classes, then expressed itself with a minor in Art in college (she hated the weird and abstract emphasis of the time, thus not a major). Janie used her love of art throughout her adulthood.
And it probably came naturally. Her great-grandmother was both a prolific victorian oil canvas painter and a porcelain china painter. Then there was her beloved artist-grandfather "Pop". Not only a prolific oil painter of ships, he once cut, carved, and assembled by scratch a complete and detailed wooden pirate ship about 3 feet in length, also making the masts, the riggings, and even the little men.
But when Janie discovered the brightness and flow of alcohol inks, she mastered it. But later moved to more non-toxic acrylic ink, which is used with Commissioned Paintings.
Painting with alcohol ink is not for the faint of heart. There are challenging techniques with the spread of the ink on a special paper, plus how to use the ink creatively. But it simply came natural for Janie. Same with using acrylic ink—Janie found a second passion.
Janie is happy to offer you prints of her many paintings on the Gallery page...each created from the inner spirit of her passion. On the Pillows, Tote and more page, there are different paintings to be used on products!
